After a large earthquake or other natural disaster, cellular networks can go down, become nonfunctional, or be overwhelmed by too many people trying to reach their loved ones. You may not be able to make calls or send text messages to your family and friends.
RelayMe provides a backup communication option. RelayMe uses the iPhone’s Wifi and Bluetooth to propagate your emergency messages to all nearby iPhones running RelayMe, so the messages can travel farther.
Make sure to install RelayMe on all your family’s iPhones. You can use App Store “Family Sharing” to share RelayMe for free with the rest of your family.
When you need it, just open the RelayMe app on your iPhone and send an emergency message. Your message will be propagated when another iPhone running RelayMe is near to you.
Important things to consider:
• At least two iPhones with RelayMe must be near each other for RelayMe to be useful.
• If the cellular network is working, it should be your first choice. Do NOT use this app to communicate if you have a functional cellular connection.
• To maximize the potential for your emergency message to reach someone that can help, messages are NOT private.
